“We have had the Prime minister of India and the Chief Justice of Supreme court addresses us in the past, yet these programs were only intellectual exercises to satisfy our hungry brain. Today’s event however is unique, for it elevates our real self, our souls” announced Mr. Hari Vamsha, the Chief Editor of Prabhat Khabar, at the book launch of the Journey Home at Patna, on the 26th December 2013. Senior government officials were the special invitees during the program.

While over a thousand attended the program inside the A.N. Sinha Institute of Social Sciences Auditorium, thousands others watched the happening on the projector put on the lawns adjacent to the hall. As thousands more eagerly stood outside the campus, waiting for an opportunity to get in to hear, the organizers regretted having settled for a venue with limited seating capacity.

In his talk, Radhanath Swami shared his dream, “For many years I have dreamt of coming to Patna; events that took place here over forty two years ago transformed my life”. He recollected how as a young man, just out of his teens, he had lived on the bank of Ganges in this city. “And I have remembered Patna and the events that took place here, almost every day of my life”, said Radhanath Swami.

Prabhat Khabar, the largest selling newspaper in the Indian states of Jharkhand and Bihar, organized the event and publicized it for four days on their first page, with a note of apology on the final day for having exhausted all entry passes.

The following day, the event appeared on the cover of Prabhat Khabar.

Excerpts of the talk covered one entire page and reviews of the attendees of the event were published in another half page. One of the visitors at the event, Dr. Rama Agarwal, shared, “My heart was transformed. The reality of life he (Radhanath Swami) spoke about was much higher than the reality I was aware of. Attending this program was a success”. Poonam Bharathi, a middle aged woman also felt inspired, “Hearing the discourse, I became aware of the dormant potential within me. He brought to light the humaneness that lies dormant within every person.”

All prominent dailies and news channels of Patna covered the event.
